Part 1: the Bronze Award Winners
At Solda Pools, we are a GTA Toronto pool builder who not only build to exceed our clients expectations but also are proud of the projects we complete. Every year Solda Pools enters the National Pool and Spa Awards run by the Pool and Hot Tub Council of Canada. In 2013, Solda Pools won 14 National Awards in a wide variety of categories. In this blog series we will examine all of the projects winning Gold, Silver, and Bronze. We will look at what makes each one of these award winning projects practical, timeless, and beautiful.
The following are the 2013 National Bronze award winners:

Bronze Award Winner – Residential outdoor self-contained Spa or Portable Hot-tub (Detached from pool) – all sizes, pre-manufactured types
- The below project is a prime example of a nestled retreat in your backyard. Covered by a structurally designed and built custom Patterned Concrete raised walkout (designed and constructed by Solda Pools in-house staff) this portable hot tub will provide 4-season comfort and serenity to this client for years to come. The added custom cookout under the walkout completes the 4-season retreat with the whole area being raised giving a grand perspective on the remainder of the project.

Bronze Award Winner – Residential Water Features or Fire Features – all sizes and installations
- This project has both the timeless elegance and the intricacies that makes a great project flawless. Looking at the rear of the yard yields the picturesque backdrop of the Niagara Escarpment. The rain shear at the rear of the yard both creates an imaginative palate without hindering the immaculate view. The two fire bowls are successful in creating symmetry and balance while also framing the overall vista.

Bronze Award Winner– Vinyl Swimming Pool and Hot Tub Combination – all sizes
- This pool and hot tub combination is the definition of rustic elegance. The freeform shape is further softened by expertly designed and installed planting (designed and installed by Solda). The natural Ontario flagstone complements the remainder of the yard with its rustic precision.

Bronze Award Winner– Outdoor Vinyl Pool – over 700ft2 surface area, with no attached water features
- Crisp and clean. Simple but distinguished. This Toronto yard will be the envy of other families for years to come. The crisp lines and timeless simplicity will forever reside in this project. This is a project where quality construction meets family retreat.
